Understanding the New Ofsted Framework

We are pleased to share a helpful video from Ofsted explaining the new inspection framework, which is being introduced nationally.
This updated framework, coming into effect from November 2025, introduces important changes to how schools are assessed and how information is shared with parents. It aims to provide a clearer, more detailed picture of each school’s performance and the quality of education pupils receive.
The new approach includes:
- A five-point grading scale, replacing previous judgements
- A stronger focus on areas such as curriculum, behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion
- A new report card system designed to give parents clearer and more detailed information
These changes are intended to improve transparency and help families better understand how schools support their children’s development.
